Oh ok, it's just a fan at the window with a bottle filled with frozen water (you may even call it ice) stood in front of it! ;-) But do you know what? It actually works pretty well! It's dropped the room temp by 4 whole degrees! If I stand in front of it, it feels lovely! I would try it nude but I don't think I'll get away with it again (not after the petition anyway)! ;-)
It's all part of an experiment - I have a plan to build my own air con system; when I think about it, it should be easy to do (the times I've said that...). I need to draw cool air in (and maybe chill it - I plan to use something slightly more sophisticated than a bottle of ice!) and dump hot air (namely from my LAN) out of the window.
At the moment my primtive air con does part of that - the ordinary household fan draws the cool air in through the window and blows it across the ice bottle. It feels cooler but I think I can do better!
